I even cautiously tried the leftover solution on a costume jewellery pair of earrings (I DON’T recommend anyone else reading this to try this though as your jewellery could be very different quality to mine!) and it worked to remove the last bits of tarnish off the chain- already used baking soda on it before and most of it was shiny as new, but this last method completely removed everything else. My costume jewellery was made of very good metal and handiwork so the solution did not damage my jewellery. Thank you so much again for such invaluable tips and advice!

Read Before You Start!: Gather your ingredients and line your pan with a sheet of foil (shiny side up). Lay out your dirty jewelry and have each part of the jewelry touch the foil. Not sure why this is important, but apparently it is. (Note: I cleaned my silver, 14k white gold and even a diamond ring without any problems. I don’t recommend using this cleaner on stones like opals and pearls. Not sure what the reaction would be to these types of natural stones.)

Taking an old cigar box and an old sweater, you can make a great ring holder that not only organizes your rings, it protects them as well. What you end up with is a ring display that looks a lot like what you see in the jewelry store, only a lot cheaper. This project is easy and only takes about an hour or so from start to finish. You end up with a place where you can slide your rings in to keep them from being lost or knocked around in the jewelry box. You could also use this to stick your stud earrings in and keep them from being misplaced.
